Any insurance experts on here re cancellation fee Rio off
Took out an insurance policy through one call insurance but it was pretty high as we had an outstanding claim against our old policy. However, within the 14 day cooling off period, the former company called to say the claim had been dropped. So we called one call back to ask that the policy be recalculated - they said it was best to cancel and start again and they would email a new quote as hey had to call to ensure to confirm the claim had been dropped

They never sent a new quote through sonee got cover elsewhere. They now want to charge £55.99 forncancelling the policy, denying we spoke to them to cancel - and even then they charge £49.99 to cancel within 14 days!

Is there any way to get this waived as it’s nonsense?!

Or this one, where One Call put their own 'helper' on the thread, who then does nothing to resolve any previous issues, gets into a pissing contest with MSE admin, and then proceeds to tout for Life Insurance business!!!

Summary: AVOID ONE CALL LIKE THE PLAGUE!!

HUGE HUGE mistake to get involved with One Call in ANY shape or form, they are utter utter cunts to deal with and are guaranteed to find a way to rip you off. They are well known for it in the industry and nothing has changed in 7 or 8 years.

Owner is John Radford, who is also the Mansfield Town chairman, as disreputable as they come.

Shame you are now embroiled, they will take some shaking off. My advice is to get all your info, call dates and times, correspondence etc, and go STRAIGHT to the OMBUDSMAN. They will not be surprised to hear from you... One Call are a source of thousands of complaints to them every year.

Here's a little sample from MSE:

If you haven't already done it get in touch with them and say you want to register a complaint and then they are required to look at the circumstances

All calls would have very probably been recorded. Check your own records and give them the date and time the call was made.
